Get Your Glee On With Jennifer Aspen

December 28, 2009

Today, I continue to live in that “nether region” between Christmas and New Year’s Day… This of course gives me time to think (uh oh) and even more time to watch and re-watch some of my uber favorites…. Mainly, Glee.

It also gives me time to go to the Holy Grail of source material (NOT!) “Wikapoopia” to get my facts delightfully wrong!  But this is  falling far short of a scholarly essay, so HUSH UP and try to enjoy…

For other uses, see Glee club (disambiguation).

A glee club is a musical group, historically of male voices but also of women’s or mixed voices, which traditionally specializes in the singing of short songs—glees—by trios or quartets. The first named Glee Club was founded in London, UK, in 1787.[1] Glee clubs were very popular in the UK from then until the mid 1850s but by then they were gradually being superseded by choral societies. By the mid-20th century, proper glee clubs were no longer common. However the term remained (and remains) in use, primarily for choirs found in Japanese and North American colleges and universities despite the fact that most American glee clubs are choruses in the standard sense and no longer perform glees. Glee in this context does not refer to the mood of the music or of its singers, but to a specific form of English part song popular between 1650 and 1900, the glee.

Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn – Enter one Uber fab cast member…Ms. Jennifer (I call her…Jen) Aspen and off we go into a Gleek o licious discussion.  Firstly, let me thank “Ms. J” for taking my call.  Lord knows I see my own number come up and I let me go to voicemail.   What a delight, my SQEFSSTNBNBFF or (Slightly Quirky, Eco- Friendly, Sassy, Sexy, Talented No Bullshit, New Best Friend Forever) not only has just as much personality off camera as she does on, but she is also working with me to single handedly erase her “carbon footprint” from the planet.   Sooooooooooo after we returned from saving the world we had time for a lil’ chit-chat (she took the alto part as I led the tenor section).

What a joy it was to meet a fellow “Random” as we “Gleefully” bounced from one topic to the next  ( had to say it…) I realized this was a woman with a “past”!

Not that kind of past!  Jen is no stranger to the limelight as we have enjoyed her in… (just wanted to name a trite few)

  1. Hey Joshua! Love your stuff, keep it coming!

  2. I absolutely love the Glee show. The acting and show is great and all but I love the music. Speaking of the music you can hear a ton of songs and watch the complete season 1 for here.
